Principal's Welcome

Welcome to the St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School website. I invite you to tour our website to discover the many elements that combine to make our school a vibrant, contemporary learning community. You will gain an insight into what we do and how we work with our students to continually develop their knowledge, experiences and understanding of our world.

At St Anthony’s there is a warm, family-friendly Christian environment.  We challenge our students to develop to their fullest potential in a challenging, stimulating, secure atmosphere, in the care of a very dedicated and highly professional staff.

Founded on the traditions of the Presentation Sisters and Franciscan Orders, we continue to strive to live out the charism and ethos of our founding orders in the context of the world our students are living in. St Anthony’s is unique in having 3 Patron Saints - Anthony, Francis and Clare - to guide the students to become excellent scholars, develop a sense of responsibility and care for the natural environment and to those in need.

The Catholic philosophy is the foundation of all our policies and programs, providing students with opportunities to develop spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically and academically.

Set on over 10 acres of lush green fields overlooking the Tamar River, students enjoy the comforts of modern facilities (built 2002) and 21st century technology in generous learning spaces and spacious playing grounds catering for all student interests.

Following the Australian Curriculum, an extensive and inclusive learning program is offered, including that of Religious Education. Further development opportunities include student leadership, extension learning activities, learning support, daily P.E., swim programs, inter-school sport, camps, sustainable living garden programs and specialist subjects of Music, Band, Choir, Physical Education and LOTE. Information Technology plays a significant part throughout all of the teaching and learning, and will continue to do so, ensuring all students can engage and access the curriculum with success.

Teacher and Parent

There is a real sense of belonging and acceptance. Real friendships are made, linked through our sense of community. As a teacher and parent of St Anthony’s, I feel that every student is valued and their best interests are at heart.

Partnerships are encouraged between teachers, staff, students, families and the wider community to challenge and scaffold learning. The school is further enriched by a committed parent body, and is strongly supported by our dedicated Parish Priest, Fr Martin Aye Ngwe.

St Anthony’s is recognised as a place of quality teaching and learning, with a strong family-community spirit, providing an innovative and rigorous learning program that prepares our students for life long learning. Feel free to further explore St Anthony’s via this website or alternatively phone the school for more information or a personal tour.
